About

Jill Gayaldo has served on the Rocklin City Council since 2017. As a Rocklin small business owner and long-time volunteer, Jill has deep roots in the community and remains dedicated to her service on the council.

For many years, Jill served as the director of transportation for Elk Grove Unified School District, where she oversaw more than 200 employees and managed an annual budget of $14 million. She brings a keen eye for finances to the council and a clear vision for community safety. Prior to this position, Jill served as director of transportation for Rocklin Unified School District.

Jill’s family has served the city of Rocklin for many decades. She and her husband Dan are grandparents to fifth-generation Rocklin residents. Dan formerly served as principal at Del Oro High School. Jill’s father-in-law, Andres Gayaldo, served on the council for nearly 20 years. Jill strives to honor and build upon his legacy.

Council Work & Accomplishments

Jill and fellow current council members have had measurable success working together. Most notably, in 2021 Money Magazine named Rocklin one of the top 50 cities to live in the U.S., and Safewise recognized Rocklin as one of the safest cities in the country.

The council has also invested more than $3 million in new equipment for firefighters and public safety response. New business has thrived with Jill on the council, with companies including Trader Joe’s, Tractor Supply and Hobby Lobby coming to town.

Finally, the city council has expanded transparency in Rocklin’s city finances through the creation of an investment advisory citizens committee to review city finances.

Priorities

Jill’s goal is to continue the work she’s done for the city of Rocklin by serving another four term.

Her key priorities include continuing the expansion of Rocklin’s trail system, which most recently broke ground on 1.5 miles of new walking trails in the Sunset Whitney Recreational Area. The city expects further trail expansion to begin in the fall of 2022.

Jill is also committed to bringing hospital and medical services to Rocklin. She is currently working with other council members to assist UC Davis with construction of a new medical facility to serve Rocklin residents.

Finally, Jill wants to see the city build on its strong financial base, with conservative bending practices and prioritization of public safety, parks and recreation.
